PLATEAU ROSA AND ZERMATT
The new Matterhorn Alpine Crossing lift, which directly connects Breuil-Cervinia to Zermatt, enters service on 1 July 2023

If you are in Breuil-Cervinia and want to see the Matterhorn in the eye, take the lifts up to the "Plateau".
The cable car allows you to reach the area for skiing, but it is an experience not to be missed even for those who don't ski and want to enjoy the high mountains.
From the terrace it is possible to admire all 4,000 meters of the Alps: the glimpses of Monte Cervino are extraordinary but you can also see Mont Blanc and Gran Paradiso, the Monte Rosa massif and the Swiss peaks of Valais before returning to Italy and set your eyes on the Piedmontese Monviso.
Matterhorn Glacier Ride II, effective from July 1st 2023
The new tricable cable car will be the highest cable car in the Alps and will connect the peak of the Piccolo Cervino to the Plateau Rosa, allowing everyone to move between Cervinia and Zermatt, between the Aosta Valley and the Canton of Valais, and vice versa.
Alpine Crossing-Matterhorn Glacier Ride will have a station in Testa Grigia, Italy at 3458m, allowing you to cross the highest cross-border pass in the Alps, the Matterhorn Alpine Crossing. The other station, on the Piccolo Cervino, in Switzerland at an altitude of 3,883 meters, is in continuity with the system of the same type, the Matterhorn Glacier Ride I, which in 2018 replaced the previous cable car of the Piccolo Cervino.
Ice cave
At the Piccolo Cervino, reachable with the new cable car, it is possible to visit the ice cave, which is 15 meters deep and is accessible through a 50-metre tunnel dug into the ice. The lighting and soft music create a unique and special atmosphere.
In summer it can also be reached on foot, in about an hour and a half from Plateau Rosa, crossing the glacier with the alpine guides.
