LAKES OF THE MONT AVIC PARK AND GRAN LAGO

The lakes that you meet along the itinerary represent the heart of the Mont Avic regional park. The trip takes place in environments that are still wild and of great charm, despite the fact that in summer they are among the most popular in the Champorcher and Champdepraz Valleys.

From Champorcher, in the hamlet of Chateau , continue along the road to Dondena passing the village of Grand Mont Blanc.
When the road becomes a dirt road, after having parked the car, take itinerary number 10 on the right on foot which leads into the Mont Avic park. Initially climb the steep path which, keeping along the stream, leads through beautiful pastures to Alpe Grand Cort (1,944 metres), then to the lake and pasture of Muffé (2,076 metres) and finally to Col del Lago Bianco (2,300 meters) from which one overlooks the Champdepraz Valley.

From here you go down on number 5, passing near two small lakes and you go down, in the direction of Lake Vallette, up to the Barbustel refuge. Taking itinerary number 5C on the left, after having crossed the bridge between Lago Bianco and Lago Nero, the path continues diagonally, high above Lago Cornuto (2,172 metres), to reach the Gran Lake (2,492 meters).
